» deutsch The story behind the Torn video is slightly surreal. In 2004 we were contacted by Toronto-based director Jordan Stone who had heard "Watching Over You" on a friend’s CD. Based on the music and lyrics an idea formed in his mind and Jordan spontaneously offered to create a video for us, edited from footage he had shot some time ago. When he sent the demo we were dumbstruck because it seemed as if this video had been intentionally made for "Torn". Yet Jordan didn’t know that track at all... Together we decided to re-edit the video-footage and to turn it into a video for “Torn”. There was no choice, really. If anything, this material was for “Torn”. Between Christmas 2004 and New Years Eve the final version was compiled, we had some creative exchange over the internet, and finally the video for Torn as you see it today was completed. The two things I find most amazing about this video involve that it is an actual gift from a director who simply liked our music and decided to share his vision. So, here's to "House of Stone" and the most unusual Christmas present we received that year. Thank you! Second, the footage materialized without Jordan knowing the track “Torn” at all.
